Before and After

Here are the peaches BEFORE:

And AFTER:

We started eating on the pie before I remembered to get a picture of it. I also have peaches to add to the frozen fruit slush that we will make with Heather and Ryan.

Yellow Pines

We took a beautiful drive near the Stillwater Dam and stopped for lunch at Yellow Pines campground. Dad said that Heather had a girls camp here one summer when we were in Glines 1st Ward.

Learning Curve

I am learning that I need to help your Dad read my mind!! I hope you can hear the audio...

Sitting Around

Dad is soooo happy that I am blogging. I have been taking the camera where ever we go so I have something to blog about! He now is in a lot of pictures. Here his is on the swing at Wanema's cabin.

There is a squirrel and blue jay that keep their eye on the deck. We put some peanuts out on the furniture and they came to get them like they owned the place.

The Cabins

Wanema is so kind and generous with her cabins. This is the view into the meadow by the cabins. I was standing on the little bridge that you can see in the "path" pictures below.

This is the first cabin that Wanema and her husband bought. She treats us royally with great food, accommodations and company.

This is the "guest cabin". When her next door neighbors were planning on selling this place she negotiated with them and was able to buy this cabin.

This view is from the road looking back to the cabins. Our car is the white spot in the middle. I really love the "Quacking Aspen" altitude and sounds.

Wolf Creek Pass

Here is a picture at the summit of Wolf Creek Pass. It is a beautiful drive.

Here are some cone flowers. Dad picked some for me on our first date but today we just took a picture of them. Who knows what we used to call them? I won't post the answer on the blog it might get edited and I would be thrown off the web.

Kristine Update

Kristine is learning to say "yes" when we offer to go food shopping with her. I know her basket isn't too full here. We didn't take a picture after the Costco shopping spree.

Kristine is pointing to the windows of her apartment. The left one is by the sitting room the right window is by the kitchen.

Grandma Robinson

Last Monday was the 7 year anniversary since Grandma Robinson passed away. While I was visiting with Grandpa I suggested we go up to the cemetery. Grandpa gathered the usual tools to trim and sweep the marker. We cleaned the marker and he started to take care of his property by weeding the lawn. It was a good example of taking care of our stewardship. Today, August 28, is the 3 year anniversary of Grandma Jolley.

On the marker is a violin for grandma. Who knows what Grandpa is saying with the mathematical equation? The answer is below....

(Infinity)

Sorry-No Pictures

We had a great visit with Heather and Ryan. We cleaned carpets, painted trim and worked on some plumbing projects.

We had lunch at the Bluebird Cafe. It was one of the courting places of Eb and Ethel. According to Uncle Richard we were to have an Ironport to drink. It is a cross between a cream soda and a Dr. Pepper (no caffeine). I thought it was a waste of a good cream soda. The waitress suggested a Cherry Ironport which tasted like a Shasta Black Cherry--which is good!

We went to church with them on Sunday. Heather gave a great lesson in Relief Society.

Cemetery

What is a trip with Dad without visiting at least one cemetery? We went to the Ogden City Cemetery to find some more relatives when we spotted this......

It was a pet cemetery so your Dad indulged me and we drove through and thought about all the animals we had in the past.

The Big Day

Steve and Jana Leigh were a very happy couple.

Here are Steve's family and friends.

Here are JanaLeigh's family and friends.

Reception

The Pot-Luck dinner after Steve and JanaLeigh's wedding was very nice. Dad's Sushi was a hit.

Here are the Bride and Groom visiting with the guests.

Steve and JanaLeigh with Terrie and Stephen.

Here they are cutting the cake. Dad, Kathy and Eric are in the background.

Family Meeting

The evenings were full of skits, games and the Family Meeting.

The State of the Family is in good shape. It was decided to continue the same financial arrangement which is a donation from the grandchild level (me and dad) but not the great-grandchildren or great-great.

Matt B. will be the next reunion chairman with Diane and Janice as co-chair. Matt suggested Mountain View, Arkansas be the location for the next reunion. It was also decided that Don, Virginia, Bob, Luella and Frank not be given assignments in the future. They should be free to visit and enjoy!

Here is Kristine with books in hand. She is so studious...

Hot Springs

The Mt. Princeton Resort was built around mineral hot springs. There were a number of pools as well as a water slide.

Some of the springs feed right into the river. Rocks had been arranged to make these soaking pools next to the river.

Here is another shot of the river with the Steam Room (tan building), bath house (red building) and two pools (behind fence and out of the picture).

Sing-A-Long with Talmage

Talmage brought his guitar and played for us. He even took requests and was a great entertainer.

Yummy Reunion Food

Dwayne and Leslie brought this great awning to put over the cooking and eating area. It created great shade and shelter.

Dad made some great s'mores. Roasted Starbursts were a hit!

More Hiking Pictures

Here are the masses climbing around the rocks by the falls. There are a number of the cousins there.....can you find them?

Talmage found a comfortable spot. He is in the light blue shirt.

Grandpa even made the trek. He is heading down with Dwayne.

Soren, Brigham and David loved the water. (I even rotated the picture!)

Hiking

We went on a hike to Agnes Vaille Falls. Yes, that is the Haines van in the background.

Here we are reading about Agnes Vaille and how she homesteaded in this area.

Here are a group of cousins.

I guess I better learn how to rotate pictures. Here we are at the falls.

Kristine the Student

Kristine was so good on the trip. She knew that she needed to keep up with her classes while she was at the reunion so she brought her books to study. I was so impressed that I took these pictures so others will know how to study at a reunion.
