Palmyra

We enjoyed the Palmyra area immensely. Here we are outside the Palmyra Temple. On top of the Hill Cumorah.

We ended our trip at the Sacred Grove. This was a very memorable trip.

Eliza and Monson

Being with the grandchildren was a highlight of the trip. Here are a few snapshots of the cuties.

Niagara Falls

Niagara Falls was a spectacular and WET place. We went all over the New York State Park as well as the Canadian side. We went to the Cave of the Winds, on the Maid of the Mist, the Journey Behind the Falls and up the Skylon Tower. We were wrapped in a lot of plastic but only took a few pictures to keep our cameras dry.
Bailey, Wills, Ryan and Heather went up to the Hurricane Deck to cool off. They are on the left.

Lawn Dart Airport

William and I flew out of Vernal to Denver to start our trip. We were told that Great Lakes has a couple of nicknames. Vomit Comet was one but the nickname we preferred was "The Lawn Dart". As we were driving along the New York countryside we came across this airport. It reminded us of our lawn dart flight.

We really liked the terminal off to the side.

If you read the small print there is a number to call to reserve space for the flea market.

Lake Erie

William and I had a great time in the Fredonia-Dunkirk area. These are some pictures of Lake Erie at sunset.

5th of July

The parade was held on the 5th of July. Here is Kristine, Ryan and Heather in the shade. It was a nice 68 degrees during the parade. It was so fun having them around for the weekend. Dad helped a neighbor roof their house...sorry, no pictures of the roofers.

4th of July Cake

Heather and I wanted to try a new cake recipe for the 4th of July. Here is the cake before we frosted the outside. We had layers of red, white and blue with some cutting and stuffing!!

We went to the Feltch's backyard for dinner on the 4th. Sowards and Whites were there too.

Ryan cut into the cake to reveal the inside......The slices looked like a flag!

How to BBQ Chicken

William and I had a wonderful opportunity to attend Girls Camp for a couple of days. While there one of the duties we had was to help with the BBQ Chicken. Bishop Feltch was the chef but you can see that he had a shoulder that was healing from surgery. They used a blow torch to start up the briquettes.

Flames helped clean off the grill.

A new trimmed off mop was the basting brush.

We used 3 grills to make the turn. 2 grills were on the base with 1 grill to use as a topper then it became the new bottom on the turn. Cathy F and I were the lower handle holders with Dad and Bro. Ross as the upper handle holders.

We turned the chicken every 15 minutes for a couple of hours.

By the end rain, BBQ sauce and chicken fat were all over our backs and hair. The chicken was fabulous!!!

Ellgen Graduation

On May 29, 2010 William, Kristine, Chloe B. and I went to Craig to attend Curtis and Nathan's graduation. The are Valedictorians and well decorated for their great efforts. Congratulations!!!
